We Believe Different is Cool®
Go Fan Yourself® is the visionary company that redefined and reinvented the HVLS fan industry with the Z-Tech™ Fan. Our passion for innovation and for doing what’s right drives us to create the world’s best big fans that blow our clients’ minds.
In addition to our technology and experience, we differentiate ourselves through the values that drive our corporate behavior. We take pride in our commitment to honesty, authenticity, professionalism and a passion for building trust-centered relationships with our clients. Instead of the quick sale, we focus on selling systems for change, not just standalone products.
Go Fan Yourself® raises the industry standard previously set for both air movement and destratification. We are always looking to create - even what may seem impossible, and improve upon our best efforts. We aspire to deliver the most innovative products to our customers.
Warm Up to Bill Carlson, CEO and Owner
Bill Carlson was born and raised in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in psychology from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.
After working for 16 years selling material handling equipment, Bill started his own business, WLC Enterprises, Inc., in 2003. The company sold loading dock equipment as well as high volume, low speed (HVLS) fans. Interest in the “green initiative” led Bill into the lighting business in 2009 to promote and distribute high-efficiency lighting ; it was at this time that he stopped selling loading dock equipment.
In 2014, Bill established Go Fan Yourself® to address the shortcomings of conventional HVLS fans in the industry. To truly be different and be cool, he knew he needed to design and manufacture his own HVLS fan. This allowed GFY® to be proactive at the highest level and create solutions for inherent gaps in conventional HVLS fan design that our customers had brought to our attention such as limited coverage area, true reversibility of a HVLS fan and removing the dead zone area found under the center of conventional HVLS fans.
Bill and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 29 years. Together they are raising seven fantastic children who range in age from 9 to 23 years old.
